Next week the library will be closed. We remain shut until the day after New Year’s Day and I can’t wait. Although we take a half day now and then, generally speaking we are open every Monday to Saturday. My friends can go to the pub on a Friday night, but if I join them I have to leave early enough to ensure I can open the library the next morning, hangover-free.

To say I’m looking forward to the break would be putting it mildly.

The library was in full Festive Mode this week. Bob looks great in his Santa hat and I’ve been wearing my own hat and snowman earrings all week, despite the looks Linda keeps throwing at me. She’s grumpy because she’s baking late every night to make all her cake orders in time.
