It is never a good idea to allow a stray dog or a wild bird to enter your library. I’ve seen both in action in other libraries when I was temping, but today one burst into our library, much to Linda’s annoyance.

Part of the problem was that it was Linda’s birthday yesterday. She decided to celebrate in our local pub, The Goose Inn. I don’t usually drink there, it’s more the sort of place my parents might go, but she asked me to come along and Boss Lady said she’d be there, so I agreed, thinking I would slip away after one drink.
