Halloween in one of my favourite times of year. When else do we get free license to stuff our faces with sugar and dress up as strange, spooky creatures? We’re pretty proud of inventing the festival in Ireland, but my Dad always says the Americans improved it. When he was growing up some of his friends carved turnips and swedes as jack o-lanterns which is tough work. He reckons the introduction of pumpkins from stateside saved thousands of severed fingers.
I brought a couple of pumpkins into work earlier this week, much to Linda’s bemusement.
“What are those for?”
“Halloween decorations.”
