P.J. laughed and said, “My Mom runs the best diner in town, and she’s expecting us.” I assume the place was also the only diner in town. P.J. gave us directions and said he and Colgan would change clothes and meet us. The grad student and I watched them walk away side by side, the sixfoot-six athletic specimen and the chubby crippled kid. He made a good point when he said, “If we want Toomey, we should make P.J. our film manager.” Even though we didn’t end up getting Toomey, P.J. Campbell actually was our film manager for five years, and he did a hell of a job of it.
