Delilah Shourds saw the Devil on the day she died.
She had a vision early that morning. The seeing had come to her in the dark hours before dawn, as the rising sun began to corrupt the blessed night. In the vision, she saw deceptive and devious girl-children fanning the flames of hate in a village to the north. Delilah knew that conflagration would consume the lives of many innocents before the madness was quenched. The thought made her laugh. Some of those souls would no doubt swell the ranks of Hell.
But there was a part of her that was angered. Her rage did not stem from sympathy for the wretches who would meet their end at the hands of their fellow human sheep. Rather, she was galled by the thought that she, a true servant of Sat...
