The Last First Date

It was late afternoon on the last Friday of the summer. Beth stood at the foot of her bed, folding laundry. That morning, she had gone morning grocery shopping, organized her wardrobe, and deep cleaned her apartment. She had spent the past week alternating between wanting to be as productive as possible with what little free time she had left and sleeping in late and sitting by the pool all day.

She had also spent the past week texting and chatting with Nate daily. Over the summer, they bumped into each other here and there, but after last weekend, there had been a definite increase in communication.
