“It was such a great wedding,” she said thoughtfully, shoveling a forkful of eggs into her mouth.

“A lot of fun,” Eleanor remarked. “The bride was gorgeous. The groom was handsome. Everyone was just beautiful. And your beau? He’s adorable.”

Beth dabbed her napkin around her mouth to hide her smile. “He’s not my beau,” she admitted. “But he is pretty cute.”

“Just a friend, then?” Eleanor asked, one eyebrow arching with curiosity.

“Just a friend,” Beth replied. “Where is Uncle Ted this morning?” she asked, changing the subject.

“Still sleeping,” Eleanor said. “If we’re lucky, we’ll make it back to your father’s house in time for dessert.”
