The Wedding Date (part 1)

With the wedding photographer behind her, Beth rapped her knuckles on the door to Ryan’s room. It swung open and her father stepped aside, fastening cuff links to his shirt. Ryan was standing in front of a full-length mirror, carefully knotting his tie. They were both wearing charcoal gray slacks and white dress shirts.

She smiled at their dad and stepped behind Ryan to adjust the back of his collar. She looked at their reflections in the mirror. She was wearing the slinky wine-colored gown that Meg had selected for her to wear. Her sister was wearing the same color, but a slightly different cut.

The photographer approached them, snapping away. He captured the two of them looking at each other in the mirror as he slipped his coat on, then snapped pictu...
