Before he could answer, the bedroom door opened and Oliver looked pleasantly surprised. “You're home! I thought you were on call!” he exclaimed.
“I was. I swapped with somebody so I could be home for pasta night.”
Beth’s mouth dropped open as Mark and Oliver came together in a quick embrace. They kissed and smiled at each other. “Well, there’s plenty left over. I was just going to pack it up for you,” Oliver said, going to the kitchen and pulling a bowl out of the cabinet. “I see you met Beth. She lives on this floor, too. Over by the elevators. We kept bumping into each other and I just had to invite her over for dinner. I stopped her from buying one of those frozen cardboard pizzas tonight.”
