"You're telling me,” she said.
“If you like, I can give you some coupons for a return visit,” Brad offered.
“Thanks,” she said. “I’m good.” She pulled her purse off the back of the desk chair and slid it on her shoulder.
“Hope your night gets better,” Brad called after her.
She waved as she made her way down the stairwell and into the waiting room, where two couples were taking turns posing in the corner of the room with props that said “WE DID IT!” “WE ESCAPED!” She smiled and offered to take a group shot of all four of them.
On the way home, she couldn’t help laughing at how the evening had gone, and thinking that once again, she’d have another bad date story to tel...
