The Twelfth First Date
Annoyed that yet another date had ended in failure, Beth barreled through the revolving door and into the lobby of her building, colliding with another resident. They had run into each other with such force that she was sent spinning and her keychain went flying from her hands. She gasped and covered her mouth. “I am so sorry!” she said, looking at the man. Even though she had only seen him once before, she remembered him. He was tall, lean, and bald, with smooth dark chocolate skin. When he smiled, two dimples filled his cheeks. He could have easily been a model. “I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
“Neither was I,” he said, holding up his phone and then slipping it into his pocket. “Sorry about that. I’m Oliver.”
