Beth was seated at a table with her brother, Ryan, and his fiancée, Megan. They had split a pitcher of beers and a couple appetizers on the patio of a busy, buzzing sports bar. “Should we order another one?” Meg asked.
“Up to you guys,” Beth said, stretching her legs and admiring the tan she’d been working on. “I don’t have to work tomorrow.”
Ryan glanced down at his phone. “Yeah, let’s get another one.” He motioned for the waitress to bring another pitcher and then turned back to his sister. “So you said you’ve gone on a couple dates already?”
