Brad checked his watch, too. “Yeah, I need to get home.”
“Then I’ll go close the tab,” Mitch said. He got up and walked over to the bar while Brad and Todd started gathering their belongings. Beth and Jen watched as the guys prepared to go.
“Have a good night,” Todd said.
“You, too,” Jen replied.
Mitch returned a moment later, tucking his credit card back into his wallet. “Well, ladies, it was nice chatting with you.” He picked up his briefcase and flung his blazer over his shoulder. “Enjoy your evening.”
“You, too,” Beth said. The three men turned and left. She looked helplessly at Jen. “So much for that.”
