So Poppy watched, and she waited, and when Roman drew up out of the sea once more, turning himself back towards his friends, his hide was ruddy brown once more, his mane a deep purple instead of awful, awful black. Poppy gasped, happily, and returned to her friend once more, a fond kiss placed on his ear. Just like old times.
