I honestly didn’t know why Sam did that. I thought he hated me. Now suddenly he wants to help me? I wanted to ask him what he was thinking but I was too afraid to talk to him. For the three days that followed I hardly saw him. He never seemed to want to be home. I could see it worked on Mr. Pike’s nerves but he didn’t mention it to me. It didn’t seem like their relationship was that great. I wondered why that was.

And honestly I was actually glad Sam was hardly home. At least that meant we didn’t talk to each other. After that kiss I didn’t want to be near him at all. Something about that kiss just messed me up. I couldn’t understand it but ever since that kiss Sam’s been in and out of my mind like annoying bees....
