CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

Garrett made his way two steps at a time down the staircase.

“Where are you going?” his mom called after him as he made his way to the front door.

He said over his shoulder,

“To Ember.”

He knew his mom was probably smiling but he didn’t turn to look. Instead he made his way to his back garden.

He texted Ember to come over and waited. It was already dark outside so she’d be there any moment.

Then he was going to tell her. He was going to take her in his arms and kiss her. The way he should’ve kissed her that first time at her house in the future.
