Garrett found his mother in the kitchen.

What are you doing?” he asked.

“Making lunch. Do you want some?” she asked.

He nodded.

She busied herself with preparing the food and Garrett watched.

“Mom, do you ever regret meeting dad?”

“What?” She turned to him. “No, I don’t. Why do you ask such a question?”

“I’m just wondering, like, do you ever wonder if you made the right choice?”
