CHAPTER THIRTY

Ember walked into the restaurant. It was going to be another long day. Another day of faking a smile to people that didn’t have a clue about her and didn’t care for that matter.

Ember couldn’t really describe the way she was feeling lately. Ever since Garrett left she’s been numb. Her life didn’t have colour anymore. It was like everything that made it beautiful and worth it was sucked out of it.

Ember let her backpack fall. She was finally going crazy.

Because right there in the restaurant, cleaning up and removing the chairs from the tables was Garrett.

Garrett turned to her.

“Hi Ember,” he said.

His voice sounded flat...
