CHAPTER TWENTY NINE

Garrett lied in bed, miserable. Thalia was gone by now. And now he was stuck in the past. He didn’t complete the goal. Would he have to go through his life again? Was he going to have to build himself up to where he was again from the start. He wasn’t looking forward to it now that he lost his reason.

The door opened and his mother came in sleepy.

“Time to wake up Garrett, you’re late for work again.”

“I don’t have a job, mom.”

It was no use lying anymore now. He might as well tell the truth.

“What do you mean? Were you fired?”

Ember would be glad he’s back. Ember.
