CHAPTER TWENTY SIX

Garrett booked a hotel for them. That night they stayed up and watched movies, enjoying their freedom still a bit too much. The next day he was really tired and he could see Thalia was too. He told her to rest today.

Garrett was going out to search for work. If they were going to survive out here alone they would need a steady income.

With a smile he said good bye to Thalia before leaving the hotel.

She pulled at his arm and said,

“I don’t want to be alone here.”

“It’s going to be okay,” Garrett soothed her. “Don’t be afraid. You’ll be fine. When I come back I’ll have a job and with my first pay check we can go celebrate.”
