CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

Garrett’s eyes lit up when he met Thalia again at the lake. She’d called his house late last night wanting to meet up. He hoped she had good news for him if it was that urgent.

But when Thalia arrived she looked grave.

“What’s wrong?” Garrett asked walking towards her. “What did they say?”

“It was horrible. They want me to leave.”

“What do you mean ‘leave’.”

“After I talked to them my dad told me they’ve been planning for me to leave to live with my grandparents on their estate.”

“No! They can’t do that.”
