CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

When Garrett left, Thalia walked down the steps.

She begged with her dad to not do this.

“You don’t know what’s good for you. Stay away from that boy!”

She looked at him her eyes willing him to soften like he used to when she was little. How could he change so much. How could he stop caring for her so fast.

She went upstairs and cried.

She took out her diary making sure no one was going up to her room. But she knew no one would. Her parents always left her alone. They never came up to her room just to talk to her, they never laughed with her at the dining table, they never cared. She also was an only child. There were no brothers and sisters to tease her, to play with, to tell secrets to.
