CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Ember waited in garret’s backyard. Her parents have been fighting again. Her mother always lost and she didn’t want to see that tonight.

Garrett arrived after a while.

“Hi,” Ember said. “Where have you been? You just walked out of there.”

“Sorry, I went to see Thalia.”

Her mood darkened. It was always Thalia.

“Oh,” she said.

He sat down next to her on the grass.

He was staring at the stars and she watched him intently.

He was so beautiful to her but he would never notice the way she looked at him.

“You look happy tonight,” she said.

“I just can't believe that after all those years I’ve found Thalia again.”
