CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Paisley almost jumped up and down.

“Rori! Rori!” she called.

Rori came down the stairs.

“What’s wrong?” she asked.

Paisley paused, smiling brightly.

“I got the job,” she said.

Rori squealed and they hugged.

“Wow. I can’t believe you have a job now,” Rori said. “Soon you’ll have a place of your own.”

Paisley felt her face fall. This was a sign. Rori wanted her out of there. She felt hurt but tried not to show it in her words.

“I’m moving back to my parents.”
