CHAPTER NINE

Paisley greeted Rori, half asleep, and leaned on the kitchen counter.

Rori turned around and looked happy to see her. For some reason this made Paisley smile.

“Okay,” Rori said.”So I thought since you’ve been living with me for a while now and you don’t have a job yet, you might as well help me.”

Rori handed her a piece of paper. Paisley looked at it and immediately felt angry. It was a list of...ugh...chores.

“What if I don’t want to do it?” Paisley said make-playful but really meaning it.

Rori’s face turned serious.

“Well, then I’ll have to throw you out. We both need to pull our weight if this is going to work.”
