Every time I heard someone knock at the door, I’d wonder. Is it her? Did she come back? And honestly if she would, would I still be mad at her? Would I still love her, welcome her with open arms? But each time it wasn’t her. And I didn’t know how to explain to Chloe that the person that somehow changed our whole life wasn’t ever coming back.
