When it was dinner time I came down and took my plate. He looked at me as I was staring longingly at the food. I hoped he didn't realize how hungry I was. I was about to excuse myself and go up to my room to eat when Liam said,

"I actually meant that you should come and sit at the table and eat with us."

"Are you sure?"

"Of course," he said with a charming smile.

"Yes, please eat with us," Chloe said.

I took my seat at the table.

We were quiet at first, the scraping of cutlery against plates seemed louder than it really was.
