I watched my daughter, Chloe, crouched in front the grave. Beth’s grave. How many times the two of us had come here. But today was a special day. It was Beth’s birthday. Chloe always liked to wish her.
I turned and walked a bit further away, not wanting to hear or see it. It broke my heart to see my daughter longing for her mother that should’ve been there. I knew eventually I wouldn’t be enough. She’ll need a mother one day. And I guess I could give her one. There were a lot of women that I knew that would be willing to go for coffee with me, especially since I was a pastor in the community.
