I didn’t talk to the guys after that. At break I sat alone. I searched for Kurt in the cafeteria but he wasn’t around. I even went over to his friends.

“Have you seen Kurt, by any chance?” I asked.

They didn’t look at me.

“Uh...hi?” I said confused.

One girl looked up.

“No,” she said coldly. “Why? Do you have something to tell him?”

“Uh...yeah actually,” I said. “Thanks. I guess I’ll see him after class.”

I walked away and sat down at a random table.

What was that all about?

Later when it was English I saw Kurt and all my nerves disappeared instantly. He just had a way of doing that somehow.

I almost couldn’t wait till afte...
