I talked to my dad again this morning before school. But I didn’t tell him everything. I didn’t tell him that I felt excited to go to school for the first time in my life. I didn’t tell him that I smiled at the mirror while brushing my teeth. I didn’t tell him that I hummed a love song I heard once at the grocer on my walk to school. I couldn’t.
