SIMON

Simon was busy serving a client when he noticed a familiar face walking up to the bar. He felt excited, nervous, and horrified at the same time. He knew he wanted to see her here again but he was afraid of the reason for her visit.

When Emilia finally sat down at the bar and Simon was free to talk to her, he said,

“Please tell me you’re not here to drink.”

“No,” she said and smiled. “Actually I’m here to see you.”

“Is something wrong?” He asked concerned.

“No, I just...wanted to catch up.”

He laughed.

“Do you want to take me out on a date or something?”

He realized too late that the joke was insensitive and inappropriate. She was his best friend’s &ndas...
