It was 10 AM on a bright spring Sunday. Zeenat followed her mother closely behind. They left the parking lot and crossed Adams heading south on La Salle. Her thoughts were with her siblings left at home.
Sure, she liked being with the troop, but Girl Scout events on Sundays were not fun. She wondered what her older sister was doing when a cab turned in front of them and zoomed down an alley. Her mother grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
