She was undeniably beautiful on first glance and first glance only, but I couldn’t regard her as that because she was hollowed out and broken. Her face was devoid of most human features when I looked closer and when I looked longer. Her eyes, sunken in and crimson, were giant slits in a head which didn’t quite fit.

As she flitted back and forth, she looked normal, then she looked awful and she just kept changing. It was as if I could see beneath the mask and I could see beyond the vestiges of what remained.
