I stood in front of a man, if you could call it that, who was possibly seven feet tall.  He was hairier than I usually like my men (by a landslide), and his eyes were an unnatural shade of….yellow?  In fact, they seemed to be glowing, everything about him seemed to be glowing.

Ruby introduced him to me as Zias and he didn’t speak much.  He just kind of grunted and stared without blinking.  I wasn’t sure what it was, but I figured it wasn’t human.  Perhaps he, or it, had once been, but it definitely wasn’t now.  Werewolf or lion came to mind, as did freak and creature and….

He snarled, baring strange teeth as he craned his unnaturally long neck forward.

“Oughta watch your thoughts, grey eyes,” he drawled.
