I think the sound of the wind is about the most beautiful sound there is. The lines of the sailing boats were rattling against the mast. I remember the country side and the freedom and everything you could do there as a child. They've built there now. There are houses in the most beautiful spots.

I think I'm going mad. I keep on reading the camp letters and seeing no daylight. Feel like a prisoner.

1944. Easter approaching, church services all the time, makes you sick. The Catholics are praying day and night I think. Received Dutch R.C. parcel, among other things three rolls of Maria cookies. Also parcel from Argentina containing coffee, milk, sugar, chocolate, cold cuts. Received your parcel from February 28th, containing cheese, licorice, cookies, vit C. Bread very moldy....
