array of people who were standing and setting before me. Then in quick succession, I recognized my mother and Charley, and I smiled.

"Hello, Mother… Charley…"

My mother stepped quickly over to my chair, followed by Charley. Then she leaned down and whispered in my ear: "I have wonderful news for you."

"What?"

"Not now. Let's finish this little experiment first."

Dr. Crumbine stood next to my chair alongside Katherine. "Do you recognize anyone else?"

There were two more women in the room. One was quite tall. My face lit up as I recognized them both. One was Mrs. Kimmelmann, and the other one was Aida—older, but still a beauty.

"Good, William. Anybody else?"

My eyes scanned the faces once again....
