men walking toward it. She stopped, fell to the ground, and crawled to the edge of the bunkhouse porch. She raised her head above the floor of the porch just in time to see one of the ranch hands open the door to step out. A second later, one of Bledsoe's men opened up with his 10-gauge and blew the man back into the doorway. The other two men rushed into the bunkhouse just as the other three hands were jumping up from their beds to see what was going on. They didn't stand a chance.

"Bledsoe's men fired almost point-blank into the three men who were bunched close together. They were dead before they hit the floor. When she saw what had happened, Graciela let out a little shriek and took off running. Bledsoe's men hurried after her, but it was still dark, and they didn't know...
