CHAPTER 28

Sue Owens had not been idle. After the unexpected trips around the estates and Colin’s obvious elation at what he saw there, she had known something was in the air. The subsequent events confirmed her suspicions. Colin did have a dark secret.

As news of the murders was broken in newspapers and on TV, she searched high and low for any clue that the police were looking for a suspect outside the murky underworld of the estates. She found none.

Her curiosity had been aroused. What had Colin been up to on those nights in the tunnels? Were there any other things he was responsible for besides the deaths of Scott, Leroy and the others? And that Doctor too. He had worked at the local hospital; was he the one that operated on Karen after Sharron’s delivery?
