CHAPTER 8

The effects of the booze on Karen, who had been resisting drinks for weeks since she realised she was pregnant was taking its toll. Both of them were tired after the long day. When they reached their room they undressed and got into bed.

Colin was already nodding off when Karen dug him in the ribs. “Oi!” she said “are we going to consume this marriage then or what?”

Colin considered correcting her but Karen was already on top of him and so instead he tried to guess the extra weight she was carrying, because she certainly felt a lot heavier than that night in his room.

It was carnage. She was three sheets to the wind; he was knackered. She was desperate; he was half hearted at best. Eventually Colin came up trumps and she had something to wor...
