CHAPTER 5

Colin had a lot of thinking to do. He thought about little else that Friday night. He didn’t pop into Woolworth’s for a chat with Karen on the Saturday morning as he usually did either, so they could decide what they would do later that night. Instead he lay on his bed staring at the ceiling all morning, trying to weigh up what the hell to do. Make a run for it? Not really an option. Where would he go for a start? Anyway, how far would he get with the little amount of money he had in his savings account. What about trying to persuade Karen to get rid of it? There was still that nagging suspicion that he’d been shafted and so he was pretty certain she had her heart set on going through with this pregnancy.
