It was late. Snow gathered at the corners of the window outside and it was building rapidly as it continued to fall heavy from the night sky. Jack’s office was too hot and he tried turning the radiator down with a pair of pliers. The knob broke off already when he tried to force it to turn. George sat in a chair and watched with some amusement as Jack cursed and fussed, cranking on the pliers.

“Give it a rest, Jack. We’ll pretend it’s Miami or something.”

Jack tossed the pliers to the ground and stood with his hands on his hips.

“Piece of shit!”

George laughed and Jack looked at him and smirked. He walked over to his desk and sat down.

“Let’s have a drink.”

“Now you’re talking.”
