After two months of training for his heavyweight title fight with Jack Dempsey, Billy thought that he should have felt better rather than worse. Physically, he was in shape, but there was no strength within him. He looked like he could move a mountain. That is, until you stood close to him. Then it was obvious that Billy Miske the fighter was a mirage. Training twelve hours a day was pushing the limits and now, standing at the sink in his bathroom, Billy was feeling every second of the last two months.
He had finished vomiting as quiet as possible and was looking at himself in the mirror. His face was pale and dark circles under his eyes made him look hollow.
