To avoid tumbling around the rolling ball, Larry found himself running alongside his captor. He glanced over the second ball that rolled across the sand next to them. Nittix was not faring much better, being bounced around the interior like a helium balloon. The mice never seemed to tire, but Larry was sweating profusely after just a few moments of running.
After what seemed like an eternity they reach the wall that surrounded the structure. Two guards opened the heavy doors as they approached. Although the structure had seemed like a single building from a distance, in reality it was composed of a series of transparent tunnels all connected by countless junctures and intersections. Mice of all shapes and sizes went about their business within the tunnels.
