Clever Bird was right, the Scrabble the night before was never going to end well. The invalids (Baggy and Abby) and their Nurse, Debby had staggered up to bed at about 2.30am, having abandoned the game in a fit of , "this board is impossible!" alcohol-fuelled pique.
