were just nubs of walls where actual walls had once stood. The door and window were softened U-shapes and the roof was demolished so long ago that all hints of it were gone. On the far side, the ruins of a chimney stood slightly taller than the rest.

It wasn't the cottage that I'd been in with Lily.

And yet, it was.

The structure was the same. The stones were the same color, the window and door and chimney were in the same locations. But this cottage looked like it had been abandoned a long time ago. Decades, maybe. 

But I'd been here last week.

Mesmerized by the contrast of my memories and what stood in front of me, I stepped towards the structure.
