It would be real nice if everybody got to die peacefully at home.  Of old age, with loving family around them.  If not that, a nice, clean hospital room would be an okay second choice.

Homicide gets to process pretty much everything else.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I wouldn’t do anything else.  This is what I’ve wanted since I was Cali’s age.

You might get cynical.  You might even get kind of numb, but that doesn’t mean you ever really get used to some of the things you see.

Or smell.

Nobody minds too much if you throw up the first couple of times you’re exposed to what’s left after the spirit’s gone -- as long as you don’t hurl on any...
