Approaching the castle, they turned east and rode past the stone edifice toward a small group of mountains nearby. Giska glided lower and landed gently on Kaira’s saddle, curling her tail around her and looking forward. “Giska, do you know where we are going?” Kaira asked her.

“No,” Giska responded.

Kaira directed her thoughts to Oscar. “Oscar, where are we going?”

“To the royal tombs. They are located over there.”

Kaira looked at the small mountain Oscar intimated with his head. It was a gentle-looking place that was covered with green vegetation and flowers from what she could see. She watched the sun bathing the land in light, the stillness of the castle’s lake, and the serenity of the sky. A...
