As Kaira stood there, puzzled by the woman’s words, the woman suddenly looked away from her.

“We should leave,” Shal’s voice said.

Kaira looked at the intent expression within Mysteria’s dark eyes. She then looked back at Shal to see the redhead had picked up her reins to guide Runley away. “It’s Mysteria,” Kaira directed to Alexander. “She’s controlling Shal’s mind.”

The prince nodded and urged Capulet ahead of Runley in an effort to block Mysteria’s gaze. At the same time, William bumped his mount into the bay horse and Runley took a side step to the left.
