“We can make camp there,” Lance said, pointing to the beginnings of a forest that was creeping up the mountain. “It is thick and our fire will be invisible inside.”

“Sounds good to me,” Kaira said and he smiled at her with understanding in his blue eyes. “I’m ready for dinner.”

“Me too,” Shal chimed.

The group quickened their pace on the thought of food and rest, and soon reached the place Lance gestured to. Immediately, they dismounted and unsaddled the horses. “Okay, I really want to put up our own tent,” Shal told Kaira as they loosed Runley and Birjanji. “Just so we can prove to the guys we can do it.”
