“The armorer?” She looked up at him in surprise. “I’m not strong enough to wear armor.” Of course, I should have known, she told herself. I’m learning to fight with a sword—it’s only natural I should have to wear protective gear, but armor? How will I be able to walk around in that?

“You have nothing to worry about,” Lance assured her.

That’s easy for him to say, Kaira thought ruefully. How was she going to manage a suit of bulky and heavy metal? She would probably stumble just from the weight of it. Still, she had been able to handle everything thrown at her so far. Surely, a suit of armor is nothing to balk at, she told herself.
